As others have indicated, you probably have a memory card issue. The telltale would be the red LED staying lit while the display shows BUSY.

With this camera model, you want to avoid using microSD cards and SDXC Sd cards, 64GB and larger.

Stuck to only using SDHC SD cards, 32GB and smaller.

Could be either. Is it a full size card? When Wes the last time you low level formatted in the camera?

LA_avgeek853,

It could be the size of your card. What size are you using? 4gb? 8gb, 128gb?

Try taking just jpg or just RAW for a little bit. Do you still have the same problem?

A few things first reset the camera to default settings. Second only use the full sized SD that is recommended in your manual and buy the SD from a known good source. Amazon is not a good source because you may get a counterfeit SD form one of Amazon's Marketplace sellers and not know it. BTW, neither is eBay. IMHO, I would stop saving raw+jpg there is no good reason any longer to do that. Just save raw alone. Make sure the battery is in good shape and fully charged.

As to SD formatting if you are a Windows user you can format the SD on your computer. Select FAT32 for 32GB or smaller SD. I am not a Mac user so I don't know if it can format the SD correctly. Perhaps it can using their special formatting app. My son is a Mac user but I have not tried it.

If the full reset and new known good full sized (not a micro-SD) SD doesn't fix your problem you most likely have a faulty camera.
