Greetings ,

In addition to my colleague's recommendation, can you please give us some history on this device. Are you the original owner? Did you buy it used?

Please test with two batteries of known good health and quality.

Do you have any accessories connected to the camera. Lens adapter? Anything third party?

Are you using a full size memory card with the camera or a MicroSD with adapter?

Have you performed a full reset of main and custom settings?

Hi All

Most controls on my EOS M5 have suddenly stopped responding. In Manual mode it’s no longer possible to change ISO, aperture, or shutter speed, and the main menu, quick menu, video record, * button, and display info toggle are all unresponsive. However, the MF/AF switch, delete button, connectivity button, and shutter release still function.

Anyone encountered this before and know a fix?

Im a real beginner so any help would be greatly appreciated.

thank you!

I don't know if this will fix it, but 1. remove battery 2. turn power switch on 3. cycle shutter button a few times.

That should drain any stored power. Reinstall battery and see if the issue has been resolved.

Hi All

thanks for your suggestions!

I tried taking the battery out for a few hours and it seemed to work.

No third party accessories, using Canon batteries and using full size media card.

im please to say it seems like its working, but I want to test it some more when I have green time until I mark it as solved.

but its looking promising!
