Firmware update on EOS Rebel T6 not working

hi name is christian trying to update firmware but when I try it doesn't find the firmware update no matter if i format the sd card i still cant update it rebel t6. new sd card and all still not letting me the newest update and all. if anyone could help ide b greatly appreciated

What version firmware does your camera have on it now?

What firmware version are you trying to update to?

And last, what is the name of the file including the extension that you're putting in the root of the SD card?

It has ver. 1.1.0

Trying to update it too ver. 1.2.0

What is the name of the file extension? I suspect that you need to UNZIP the file container.

I find the easiest way to do this is to open the ZIP file using Windows File Explorer, and copy CTRL-C, the FIR file snd paste, CTRL-V, the file onto the SD card.

Could you tell me where I could download this? My Rebel T6 is stuck on 1.1 and I can’t find the 1.2 download anywhere.

Do you mean running v1.1.0?

Firmware download for the T6 is missing on the Canon USA website currently.
