EOS R8 Focus Bracketing with Flash

Bought a new flash designed for focus bracketing. However, it does not fire when pressing shutter button. Looks like from what I read from similar reviews this is a camera flaw that is not advertised to prospective buyers prior to camera purchase. Please tell me there is a workaround. This is an expensive discovery!

What model of flash is it?

Focus bracketing uses the electronic shutter. The read out speed of the sensor is not fast enough to record the flash. Only the EOS R1, R3 & R5 Mark II can fire the flash in electronic mode.

I assume the R8, too, since it only has electronic shutter.

The EOS R8 does NOT have only a fully electronic shutter. It has a partial mechanical shutter (Electronic First Curtain Shutter) and the fully electronic shutter.
