I have a lot of settings / custom settings in my current R6 MK II, but was suggested to possibly do a factory reset due to some focusing issues I have had. Is there any possible way to save the settings before proceeding?

Re: Factory Rest R6 MK II

No, you can’t save your settings. But, there are two work arounds.

The first is to not reset the camera, at all. Change the shooting mode on the top dial to Inrelligent, Green [A+], mode. This shooting mode takes all your custom settings that affect image capture off the table. If the issue immediately goes away, then the issue is most likely a camera setting somewhere.

The second work around is to save the camera configuration to a custom shooting mode. Now you can fully reset the camera. But don’t reset the custom shooting mode settings.

One word to the wise. The point of resetting the camera is to clear out your customizable. Once you reset the camera, don’t immediately go to work restoring your customizations. Doing so would entirely defeat the purpose of performing the reset.

Test the camera first. You always have the option of restoring your customizations by comparing menu screens with those in the custom shooting mode that you used to store the camera configuration earlier.
