Are you using Full sized or Micro SD Cards in adapter. Always use Full sized SD Cards as Micro SD Cards in an adapter are nothing but trouble. What brand SD Cards are you using? Where were they purchased from there have been reports of counterfeit SD Cards.

I am a real estate photographer and I shoot several properties a day both photo and video. I cannot explain this issue. I had two shoots today, morning and afternoon. 0 issues at either, R6 Mk II I've been using a while now worked perfectly as usual, CR3 raw images and mp4 video. Canon 16-35mm 2.8 that never came off the body. The camera was turned off between shoots, was never dropped or bumped, nothing unusual about the whole day. After my last shoot I get home from the 35min drive and put in my card for the usual unload. No files from today are there, only todays files are missing. They pick right up on yesterdays shoot, the card was not formatted or cleared, just everything from today is gone. No photos, no video, and even weirder is they are not on either card. I have dual card writing set on all photo and video just to avoid issues and neither card has a single file from today. Playback was working during the shoots, images showed that I would review and then move to the next shot. Tried both cards in both my PC and laptop, both come up immediately and open files quickly but simply start at yesterdays shoots and don't show anything from today now. Same with on camera, if you hit playback it just is starting at yesterdays. I took 1 test shot sitting at my desk and that image is coming up? I am running 1 card in DiskDrill now but really need the content from these shoots. Thankfully they are homes and this was not a sporting event or wedding... I cannot have this happen again. Please any recommendations are welcome.

Sorry I left out initially both cards are SanDisk Extreme Pro 200mb bought from reputable vendor. Used a full size reader to my PC but the same issue is there if I try it on my laptop with a direct SD port, everything there but todays.

Solved -

Photos and videos were there, but I had to use the DiskDrill program to extract them. They would not appear anywhere on the card or camera, but showed up on diskdrill all with strange file names and no dates. Thankfully they were all still full resolution! Those 2 SD cards were immediately retired and have since picked up 2 Lexar professional 250mb/s cards, as my trust for sandisk dropped severely.

It's a good practice to format your cards in camera after downloading the images, especially if you have removed the card from the camera. That will most likely keep issues like this or corrupted files from happening. I doubt anything is wrong with your cards that formatting will not fix.

Yeah, but for a professional you follow the underwear rule: If it's doubtful, it's dirty.

Replacing a card is a small price to pay.

I am having this same issue. I am using DiskDrill now. Did the lost files come up the first time you ran it or did you have to run the longer scan? I am currently in panic mode. I shot an event yesterday and NONE of my footage is there! But I know I replayed some of the footage and it was there yesterday.
