topic R8 1.5.0 bug report: Auto ISO access in Fv in EOS DSLR & Mirrorless Cameras

There are some situations when using Fv mode (seemingly associated with D+ mode) where using the main dial to select the ISO, from auto, will not allow returning fully back to auto - it stops at 200 and cannot continue to auto.

Switching from the mode dial from Fv to a different mode and back does clear the issue allowing for the return to auto via the dial.

That behavior is not a bug. It’s by design. There’s a warning about it in User Guide, where it describes what the setting does.

Personally, I always leave in-camera image settings that correct the image for noise, lighting, etc, disabled. I shoot RAW and make the corrections in post.

After a bit more experimenting - I note that the trash key when in Fv mode doesn’t seem to change/reset the aperture setting- that’s a sufficient workaround - although it does mean resetting the shutter speed.

Moving in and out of iso on the r8 with limited dials (in Fv) is a big differentiator vs manual mode so it’d be helpful if returning to auto was available (of course moving to auto via the touchscreen is easy but the theory here is viewfinder mode)

Maybe short trash press to reset the highlighted item vs long to reset all? Perhaps press duration isn’t a Canon thing though.
