I am wondering what opinions people might have positive or negative about using the built in focus bracketing in the R5 and R6Mii. Any suggestions will also be helpful.

Thank You

Jkarl, I use it on both bodies and have had great success, so far all positive. Depending on the subject I can achieve nice results hand held but use a tripod when ever possible. I do not use the jpeg output that the camera supplies, I review and select my frames and use Photoshop or DPP for the stack. Honestly I prefer PS as its faster and gives me more flexibility for post.

I use it frequently and haven't had much of a down side at all. It's a fun process unless you are outdoors and it's windy.

I target (or try) an area in the foreground of my subject as a focus point and shoot enough frames to finish behind the subject. I review the images in bridge or DPP and select my frames, make a copy of the ones I'm using into a separate folder and start the stacking process.

I shot 30 frames, used 20, shot @ an interval of 2
