EOS R5 Mark II - Ranking and Viewing Ranked Images, how?

I've been struggling with shooting and rating images on the fly. Here's what I want to be able to do:

1. Preview images immediately after capturing and then rank or favorite the frames I want save for later.

2. Quickly view only the ranked pics on my camera, filtering out all the others.

3. Convert those RAWs to jpgs to send out immediately.

I know how to rate images, and when I bring them into Photo Mechanic sorting by rank is easy. But I'd like to be able to sort/filter while viewing on my camera in the field.

Yes you can apply a filter to images on the camera and there are a few choices of how to do that.

You can change the default behaviour of the main dial on your camera, so that when in playback it jumps between the rated images. Normally the main dial by default jumps from image 1 > 11 > 21 so in steps of 10 images. You can change this when in playback by pressing the Q button and selecting Image jump with main dial to change the jump to star ratings. Now you can simply turn the main dial to jump between star rated mages. You can even be granular and jump between any star ratings, or only specific ratings like 1-star or 5-star for example.

With respect to your third question about converting RAW photos to jpgs, on my camera at least, (a T8i), you can convert RAW's to jpgs this way:.

1) Go into your Image Playbacks and hit the Menu button.. Go to the second page.On my camera, it's blue with a little right-facing arrow.

2) On your second Menu tab, there is a setting for RAW Image Processing.

3) Hit that and select the images you want to process. At that point, you can select one image, or a range of images by hitting your Set button.

On my camera, once you have selected the image or images you want to process, you hit the Q button.

4) On my camera, you are offered a choice of using the shot settings you have or customizing various settings like brightness or white balance, etc.

If you choose shot settings, it will immediately convert that image to a jpg which you can save or not as a new file.
