Can you explain the term "view by view mode" as I'm not sure what that means? It's not a term that Canon uses in the manuals.

Hello, the Canon RP camera shooting twice even though I only ask it to do so once. It doesn't do this all the time, but often. The multiple exposure function is disabled. Do you have any idea how to fix it? Is this a bug in my camera?

Which drive mode are you using on your camera? If it's one of the high speed drive modes, the camera shoots fast enough that if you are not quick enough to lift your finger off the shutter it can take two photos, or more, but sometimes you can be quick enough so it's only a single photo. The icon for high speed drive looks like three stacked rectangles with a H to the right of them. The low speed continues drive is just the three stacked rectangles.

You can change the drive mode by pressing the Q/SET button and selecting drive mode from the icons on the side of the LCD, or by pressing the M-Fn button and selecting drive mode from the settings. Check your manual for more details.

Thank you for your answer but i think the solution is somewere else because my camera is set for view by view mode so i'm not in a faster mode.

Greetings,

I'm confident p4pictures (Brian) has identified the behavior you are experiencing. Its either a drive mode setting, self timer or a dirty / malfunctioning shutter button. When a high speed drive mode is selected, the camera might capture 2 or more frames if you do not lift your finger or react quickly enough.

In the english manuel, the good term is single shooting.
