Shutter delay eos rp

I have a new EOS rp.in automatic mode when the shutter is depressed there is a 10 sec. Delay prior to the picture being taken. You can see the timer in the viewfinder.

Looks like you've got the self timer set, set the drive mode to another mode.

Well going to my menu screen interval timer is disabled. I changed to a different program (P) same delay

Not the interval timer, the drive mode. It is set for a ten second delay to allow for old school selfies. It is one on the basic settings on the quick control screen.

What you are looking for is a Drive Mode.

Apparently, the RP does not have the Drive Mode in the menu settings, but as I understand it, if you hit the Q button, the Drive Mode shows up on the left hand side of your settings screen.

Look on page 414 of your User Manual here:

it shows you how to select your Drive Mode.

What you want is a single shot, not a 10 second time delay.

Change the setting in the lower left corner to the single square.
