&lt;P&gt;What you are looking for is a Drive Mode.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Apparently, the RP does not have the Drive Mode in the menu settings, but as I understand it, if you hit the Q button, the Drive Mode shows up on the left hand side of your settings screen.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Look on page 414 of your User Manual here:&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;it shows you how to select your Drive Mode.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;What you want is a single shot, not a 10 second time delay.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have a new EOS rp.in automatic mode when the shutter is depressed there is a 10 sec. Delay prior to the picture being taken. You can see the timer in the viewfinder.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Not the interval timer, the drive mode. It is set for a ten second delay to allow for old school selfies. It is one on the basic settings on the quick control screen.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
