The mount on my R6ii was pretty tight when it was brand new. It is not an uncommon complaint with the camera. I haven’t heard similar complaints with other models.

Over time, the mount seems to have “broken” in a little bit. But it is still tighter than any of my DSLRs. Maybe I have gotten used to the tighter fit. I dunno.

EOS R6 Lens mounting issues

I'm having an issue attaching any RF lens ( I own RF14-35 f4L, RF24-105 f4L. and RF70-200 f2.8L) to my R6 body. Today, I tried to change lenses from the 14-35 to the 24-105 and had trouble getting the first one off, and the second one would not attach completely at all. Had to run home and borrow my son's R6; lenses attached with no problem. I know these lenses are kind of stiff to put on and take off, but this time it was nearly impossible to remove and attach. Any one else have this issue?

TIA,

Don

Greetings,

Unless dropped with a lens attached, it's pretty hard to bend the flange on the body. What about the release mechanism? Does that seem like it's working when you depress the release button?

If the lenses are going easily to another body without an issue. I'm sure they're fine.

It sounds like you might need to send the camera in to have it inspected by Canon. If you continue attaching lenses to it, eventually one might get stuck and then you'll have to send the entire "unit" in.

Look at everything closely to make sure there's not any debris or build up that's causing binding.
