Has anyone else had this problem and, if so, what was your fix?:

In the past couple of months I've noticed that when I power up my Canon EOS 90D it occasionally doesn't turn on. Serendipitously I noted that it seems the battery needed to be pushed up just a small distance (<1mm) to make contact with the contact points and turn the camera on. More recently, I've actually had to insert a piece of thin carboard into the battery compartment to keep the battery connected and operational.

Perhaps coincidentally I also get a "bad connection" notice on the view screen which seems to go away when I clean the contact points but it doesn't solve the contact issue described above. Anybody have any ideas on what is going on? The camera is less than 5 years old (I have a Rebel T2i that's over 10 years old that's working just great). My fix works but I'd feel more comfortable knowing there's something other than a MacGyver solution for an expensive piece of equipment.

Are you using Canon batteries or third party?
