Only Full Auto and Full Manual modes work when the camera is set to movie mode. When set to Aperture Priority (Av) or Shutter Priority (Tv) Modes the camera acts as if the mode dial is set to (P) Program Mode. Other cameras allow Semi Automatic modes to be used in movie mode.

deebatman316,

My T8i behaves the same way. In Movie Mode, if I set it to Av, TV, or P Mode, the camera defaults to P Mode and sets the aperture and shutter speed. I'm not sure if I can adjust the ISO or exposure compensation. I'll have to take a look at those, but it does a pretty good job of adjusting the exposure in changing lighting conditions.
