The best advice I could give you is to learn how your camera works with light.

Where it's coming from... how strong it is,,, how your camera handles the contrasts between light and dark.

Your camera has a crop factor that is going to make things larger than what they appear to your naked eye, so photos taken with your 55-250 may be enlarged, or seem closer to you than what you want, so take that into account.

Others may disagree with me, but I might suggest that you get a 50mm STM f/1.8 lens. It will handle low light situations, like indoor settings such as concerts or living rooms, better than your current lenses. The 50mm is not very expensive..They only run about $120.

Howdy. I'm new to the field and looking for help on what I can do to maximize the quality of my photos and videos. I have two lenses with my camera. The first one is a EFS 18-55mm Lens, and the second is a EFS 55-250mm.

Im currently working with more photography skills to get used to the camera but my end goal is to do videography, leaning towards car races and military planes. Any help would be welcome towards getting the right settings!

What are the deficiencies you observe now?

the T3i is s not good for videos because the autofocus is poor. You would be much better served by a newer mirrorless camera.
