Good afternoon I’m looking to do night time lapse photography with a Canon rebel T3. I have a pixel timer remote control. My end goal is to have a video of the night sky. What setting should my camera be on? How many pictures should I take and for how long?

Assuming that your timer is compatible, the camera probably needs to be set to Bulb shooting mode. Check your owner’s manual for your camera to make sure.

The rest is highly dependent upon what lens you’re using. And, of course, your remote timer unit. You will not be able to auto focus, either, because it will most certainly will be too dark.

I suggest you go to YouTube and search for beginner videos about astrophography. There’s far too much ground to cover to discuss it all here.
