topic Canon EOS R7 - issue registering multiple batteries in EOS DSLR & Mirrorless Cameras

I have recently purchased the Canon EOS R7 which came with one Canon branded battery. I wanted some spares for emergencies and after some research settled on a pack of three K&F Concept batteries of the same spec as the Canon battery, but more affordable.

I have registered the Canon battery to the camera without a problem, and then registered the first K&F battery (again without any problem). I put the second K&F battery in but the option to register it is greyed out and it seems to be picking it up as the first K&F battery I put in the camera. I also tried the same with the third battery and came across the same problem.

The camera seems to think that all three batteries are the same battery. Is this how the camera works or am i doing something wrong? I assumed they would all show up as different batteries as the camera can register up to six I believe.

Genuine Canon batteries all have a unique serial number coded in to them. The camera uses that serial number to identify different specific batteries. It would appear that the K&F batteries are all using the same serial number, therefore the camera identifies them all as the same battery. This is a problem of the K&F batteries, other independent battery makers may have similar deficiencies in their attempts to copy the Canon batteries.
