EOS Rebel T3 won't turn on, rattling noise inside

I recently bought this t3 off of someone for 10$. When I bought it she said one day it was working fine then another day it just never turned on again. I've used battery's from my personal t3 and it still didn't work. I've cleaned everything, still didn't work. The only thing I've noticed is that there is a rattling noise inside. My personal t3 does that too but this one is way more apparent and loud (not very loud but louder than my personal one) I hope I can fix this as this camera, besides the issue is in perfect condition. I'd also thought I'd come here first before going to a repair shop

Does the camera report any error codes on the LCD screen or in the viewfinder.

No, nothing even shows up, the light doesn't come on, nor does the screen, just blank

Have you tried removing the lens and SD Card to see if the camera works. Are you using accessories on the camera if so remove them and retest.

It came with nothing, so I've tried both with none and with accessories, still nothing. (Sorry for late reply, didn't see notif)

Take the battery out of the camera and hold down the shutter button. Does the lcd screen turn on if you press the menu button?

Greetings ,

The two things that can also keep the camera from powering on is the contact on the battery door or the contact on the media door cover.

Inspect closely you might be able to use a toothpick to simulate the doors closing.

The power switch could have malfunctioned or any number of things inside the camera. It sounds like your $10 gamble didn't pay off. It might be time to walk away and cut your losses.

Still didn't work, so yea it's probably something on the inside. Question though, if I took it to a repair shop, would it cost more to fix it than to just buy the camera again (but working)?

Best to spend the $$$ for another camera. I bought a P&S camera for the wife. Cost $85. Focus quit as the lens would only go out part way. Camera shop quoted $100 to fix. Tossed it.
