R3 dials don't always register the first click

Are the dials 'digital'? When changing aperture I'm set to 1/3 stops, so expect 3 clicks on the dial to be a full stop. I've noticed that quite often the first click doesn't actually register as a change and I'll need 4 clicks to get a full stop of difference. If you're looking at the camera, not a big deal, but when you want to quickly change the camera and matching off camera strobes, having to check the display and not just '3 click' it is really annoying. Too many times I've ended 1/3 of a stop off.

Is this a quirk for all mirrorless? I definitely never had this on my 1Dx or other 1DIII bodies.

I'll add that I'm latest firmware before someone asks.

These variable controls are digital (rotary encoders) for your camera as they have been for the DSLR bodies also.

Is it possible your camera is going to sleep (power saving mode) and the first click wakes it up and then the remaining steps are actually used?

No, definitely awake during studio shoots. I swear I never saw the problem with the 1Dx or 1D. Just curious if anyone else has observed the same.

Yes, I have never had the issue with my 1D series bodies but I thought maybe you had your mirrorless set to an aggressive power saving mode given that architectures appetite for power.

I would find that very annoying also.
