I bought my camera a month ago and had to send it back to Canon because I got error 70. Sometimes I just have to turn off the camera or remove the battery, but other times the error persists.

I've been noticing that this is a common error. If anyone reading this has had this same problem, I'd like to hear your experience.

I've been thinking about exchanging the camera for another Canon model, even though I only bought one.

I want to confirm with 24-105mm F/4 lens. Is that the L version with the red ring. Or is it the consumer version which is the 24-105mm F/4-7.1 lens. Always provide full names of the lenses. Some lenses have more than one model.

I have this exact issue with my r6 ii. I use all canon EF-L glass with the official lens converter plus all sandisk extreme pro memory cards, with official canon battery grip and official canon batteries and the issue persists no matter the shooting condition. It can freeze up on me between 3-8 times on a full wedding day. No bueno Canon! You got a REAL problem on your hands and I have a feeling you internally know all about it and are hiding it from the public so you don't have to take full responsibly for your extreme screw up.

I'm already seeing this as a problem many people have with this model. I sent my camera in for repair, luckily it's barely been used for a month. I bought a new one on Amazon.

I can imagine what you've been through at weddings.

Are you using an external speedlite by any chance since you mentioned weddings. Certain 3rd Party speedlites will lock up the camera. When Canon switched to the EOS R Series. Canon modified the AF Assist signal the camera sends to the speedlite. When they made this change 3rd speedlites became incompatible. But a Canon speedlite sees this different signal and provides an AF Assist Beam differently. Canon speedlites switch to Intermittent Flash Firing instead of the IR AF Assist Beam turning on. A 3rd Party Speedlite doesn’t understand this command and locks up the camera with E-70 or Error 70. This problem dates back to the original R and RP. Godox speedlites are known to do this other 3rd Party Speedlites have this problem too.

I forgot to update. After sending my camera to Canon, it took them about two weeks to find the problem. In the end, they didn't find it and did a general cleaning. I'm currently using my camera and haven't had this problem again. I also purchased the CarePack Plus.

-Demetrius
Bodies: CANON R6 MARK II
Lenses: RF 14-35 F4 L, RF 70-200 F4 L

Update to my issue...both cameras have been sent to Canon and they claimed it was a firmware issue....got them both back and for months the issue has been getting worse and worse. My cameras now freeze 10-15 times per day per job. Both bodies have this issue. I have lost a lot of respect for Canon to release such faulty cameras. I'll be calling their CPS and complaining non-stop.
