I sent two 5DMII camera bodies into the repair center in Irvine but they only sent me one back...

I sent two 5DMII camera bodies into the repair center in Irvine but they only sent me one back...

They say they don't have a record of recieving two bodies and there isn't anything they can do... it appears that Canon lost my camera and wont do anything about it.

It didn't turn on but I was working on fixing it

What can be done about this? I want my camera back

Dude, you need your paper work. Email confirmations, etc. Pump up the info and reduce the outrage. You submitted two cameras so you should have the supporting documentation to show your order request, confirming service order number, etc.

Is it all together or something else?

So you have confirmation from Canon that it was expecting 2 bodies in one box?

No they were expecting one but I sent two because I assumed it could be used as a donor body for parts... it's like they just tossed my other camera body or lost it

And insured them, of course, as any sane person would do. So all you have to do is toddle down to your local UPS or Fedex outlet and file your claim. What's the big deal?

Is there any proof that you sent in 2 bodies instead of 1? You created a repair order for only 1 camera and Canon is only expecting one. So they sent you one.

Legally, how do you know that the second camera was still in the package if Canon says it wasn't? If you stated the contents as two cameras when you handed the package to USPS, they're responsible for seeing that they got there. Then if Canon signed for the shipment, the burden of proof should be on them to show that there was only one camera. If Canon didn't sign, USPS (or its insurer) should have to make good. Unless you involve USPS, how are you going to refute Canon's claim that there was only one camera?

I hope that when you insured the shipment with USPS, you gave them the two serial numbers. That could make matters a lot simpler.

How do we know if anybody ever sends 1 camera? Neither of them worked, why would I lie about sending a broken camera?

That is so unfair. We are trying to help you but you broke the rules for the service contract and now you want us to help you solve your probem. If I threw a $100 bill in the package, I would not expect it back.

I think you put that 2nd body in there because it was worthless. (You said it was to supply parts but there is no such allowance permitted for Canon Service repairs. So you did something for which you have no reasonable expectation of getting satisfaction.)

You are either naive or young, it matters not. The camera may be recoverable but it is not Canon's responsibility to do so.

I called in again today for the 5th time and they finally located it. They hadn't tagged it with my order and it got lost. It was thier fualt
