EOS RP battery drain time with RF 70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM

What is the battery drain time for the modest EOS RP camera with a modern lens like the RF 70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM under typical usage conditions? Is there a substantial difference when used in fully manual mode or with AS turned off? Is it the same for the Z version lens?

I don’t think anyone has published results on such a specific test. I think you should worry more about the power drain created by the EVF and rear LED display.

I agree with my colleague. There are things you can do to decrease battery drain, regardless of the lens you're using. Things like disabling continuous AF, or using the viewfinder instead of the LCD. If you do use the LCD, you can decrease the amount of time a preview image displays and decrease the amount of time before the camera enters power save or sleep. The camera can be woken up easily by pressing the shutter half-press or by using the AF on button.

When shooting, you always want to have one or two extra batteries ready to go. The last thing any photographer needs is to be without power or missing a shot when it counts.
