topic EOS Rebel T5 takes 5-10 seconds to take a photo in continuous shooting mode in EOS DSLR & Mirrorless Cameras

When I change the drive/ self-timer mode to continuous shooting it would take about 5-10 seconds to take a photo and I’m wondering if anyone know what can be causing it to take that long. When i usually use it, it would go fast now it takes forever. Should I reset the whole thing??

It seems like you are conflating two different settings, drive mode and shutter mode. The shutter mode has a 2/10 second delay mode, where the camera will wait 2 or 10 seconds before it fires the shutter once.

What are you trying to do?

Junior0407,

It sounds like you may have inadvertently set your self timer.

Here's a help page for turning that on and off on a T5i:
