EOS R5 Mark II - 8k-D 29.97P LGOP upload to YouTube fails

Hello, I've been uploading 8K video with the R5 to YouTube for years with no issues as 8K-D 29.97P IPB. I can upload the file saved to the express card without manipulation just fine.

But switching to the R5ii I'm not finding a way to upload to YouTube as 8K at all specifying 8K-D 29.97 LGOP and others.

Information from YouTube indicates that YouTube prefers h.245 and h.246, so I'm not sure what the issue is.

Anyone have any suggestions or workflow solutions? Tech support was not able to advise.

YouTube recommends H.264 (though I believe H.265 would also work). I see no mention of supporting IPB or LongGOP formats recorded by the camera which may be wrapped in a container. i.e. you'd need to use an appropriate codec for distribution.

Am curious though on why you need to upload such high resolution media. The amount of compression that YouTube would apply would be massive. I believe you'd be better off with 4K media (still highly compressed, but may end up having more quality than 8K).

Are saying that you cannot upload directly from the camera? But it works fine when the media is removed from the camera?

No, I'm not trying to upload directly from the camera.

I was trying to explain that I hadn't processed the file in any way before uploading.

YouTube allows me to upload, but then it can't process "Can't process file. Upload failed. This video file could not be processed"
