Why there's a line in my EVF?

Canon R5mll EVF: bug or problem? I often get a white horizontal line in the bottom of the EVF. The fact is, this white line pops up randomly only in the EVF and only last for a millisecond.

VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/kGMO8EbQcJA?si=WRE6V_d0S1_HanMC

This happens since then I purchased it last year thinking it’s a software thing. I tried changing settings like blackout free ecc. but nothing changed. What do you think it is, software or hardware issue?

Greetings,

While we're waiting to hear from others, I think it might be a good idea to register your camera and contact Canon support. This might help you determine if the behavior is related to your device exclusively.

Hello timdagraca,

That is an odd occurrence. Have you updated the firmware on the camera? I would suggest starting with that. The latest firmware can be updated HERE. If the issue persists, the camera may need to be evaluated a service center.

Yes, the camera was bought refurbished from the Canon online store. Beyond that, the IBIS is a little jerky. Both on current firmware 1.0.2.

Thanks, mine is brand new too (only a few weeks old). I saw on another forum that Canon replaced his EVF under warranty which resolved the issue. But, another person sent his to Canon and Canon couldn't find any problems. At this point I'm leaning towards a software issue. I started a thread on Reddit to see if anyone else if having the same issue.

I have the same situation. I went to the official after-sales service today. They said that the headquarters had already known and asked us to wait for the firmware update.

According to personal findings, this situation is more likely to occur in scenes where light and dark change rapidly and when the battery is low.
