To answer the question; No, you cannot remove all the images from both cards in one go. The only method is to delete all from both cards separately.

If you use the format command you will remove all images and movies from the card.

If you use the erase all images feature in the playback menu, you will erase all movies and stills except those that are protected.

When trying to erase images on the R6 Mark II is there a way to erase all images from all cards?

Under Erase images is "All images on card", and in the upper right corner of the back screen the number 1 card is shown. Is there a way to select card 2 ????

The only work around I know of is to format both cards.

Greetings,

I suggest you format the card(s). This will remove all images and prep the card(s) for your next outing.

Here is a walkthrough with images.

Yes, that is true. The "All images on card" is present and will erase all the images on that single card. But is there a way to switch to card 2? I can't find it.

Once you hit "Format" in the menu you should see the option to switch cards. Here is a screenshot of page 892 in your camera manual.

So there does not seem to be an option to ERASE all images from all cards, OR to ERASE all images on card, then switch to the other card and execute that selection again. I never inquired about FORMAT as that was always available able to format card 1, then format card 2. This may be an opportunity for Canon to improve their firmware to fix this oversight in their code.

The erase process only applies to the card you have selected for playback. Unless you have protected images best option is as others have said - just select Format.

Thank you. Your information guided me to a potential solution. In the Tools (wrench) icon I can switch the Play setting to Card 2 then the "Erase all on Card" highlights C2. This tells me that there is an opportunity for Canon to improve the firmware.
