Thanks Rick. I realize that the view assist does not output over HDMI. I guess my question is how can I get an external monitor to appear with a LUT on it? When I apply the LUT that looks great in Premiere to the Portkeys display it still looks wash out.

What LUT are people using for external monitoring with the Canon R6ii?

EOS R6 Mark II video images look washed out on Portkeys LH5P II monitor

I purchased a Portkeys LP5Hii to work with my Canon R6ii for shooting video in Clog.

No matter what monitor adjustments or LUTs I load, the image looks completely washed out and the waveform supports that as the blacks will no go below about 15 IRE.

If I turn off the Clog mode in the camera the Portkeys monitor looks fine. Currently I am using Canon C-Log3 to Rec.709 LUT 33x33.cube in Premiere and the looks great, but that same LUT on the Portkeys looks washed out.

Any ideas on how to get this image on the Portkeys closer to what the camera sees with View Assist turned on?

Greetings,

Great question. 👍

View Assist does not output over HDMI. You]l only see it on the camera's LCD. When shooting in CLOG3, your dynamic range is preserved.

Some use BT.709, others BT..2020. Try BT.2020 and see if it works better for you. The display supports 10 bit so it might look better. I also noted that it said you could upload a LUT to the display through its USB A port. I'd also update its firmware while you are at it.
