EOS R100 No audio from external microphone

I am trying to record a video on my Canon EOS R100 with an external microphone. (Pop Voice PV610+) I'm not getting sound when I check the Sound Recording levels. The mic is plugged in all the way. The sound recording is "enabled." The mic does not have or apparently need an external power source. Am I missing a setting or some other step? Thanks.

Did you use the adapter?

yes, I used the adapter with two black lines on the prong.

No need to search anymore! My wife returned from a trip, plugged in the adapter (which I had tried), and it worked. Magically. Thanks everyone!
