Thank you so much Rick!! My only question is about the incorrect firmware I downloaded. I’ve read that you can’t delete without damaging your camera. If I download the correct v1.6.0, what happens to the incorrect 1.7.0 that’s on the camera? I used my computer to download firmware to SD card method. There are 2 errors here. Wrong version and wrong camera mode. Looks like I’m off to a bad start with this camera 🙈

I just bought a Canon R7 camera. I goofed when updating the firmware. I formatted the SD card per instruction, but I overlooked setting camera on P mode. It was on A+. I downloaded the 1.7.0 firmware. The version on my camera was 1.4.0. before the update. I got confirmation stating the firmware was installed. When I checked the version on my camera, it showed Version 1.5.0. How can I fix this?

Fuji's Acquire is a relatively little-known program which is great for saving the camera settings, or transferring them to another body of the same model.

Greetings,

As of today, the latest firmware available for the Canon EOS R7 is v1.6.0.

You can download it here.

https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/eos-r7?srsltid=AfmBOorplaS26QlBJVJ1sLy8XalbKEQ425tISk97tQu3cwCHndCkkBb2

To upgrade your camera, visit the link above and download the 1.6.0 firmware. Certain menu options are not available when the camera is in automatic mode.

What steps did you use to upgrade the firmware? Eos utility, Canon connect or manually on the SD card?

In any event, you'll need to apply the v1.6.0 firmware to have the latest available for your camera.

I would not use the software mentioned above. (Fuji) It's for another camera manufacturer and should not be used with your Canon product. If you have more questions about the update process, please post to this thread again.
