      <title>Spot meter or not?</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I was reading an article last night and the author recommended that you spot meter off the brightest parts of your scene and then adding 1 to 2 stops of positive exposure compensation.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I think that 's designed to lift the shadows and avoid what might turn out to be a silhouette.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;That seems to me like an awful lot of effort.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Any opinions?&lt;/P&gt;
