This is the default behaviour when you’re camera is set to one of the custom shooting modes C1/C2/C3. You need to enable the automatic update of registered settings. See the manual section at this link.

After reasigning functions in Custom Buttons they will revert back to default. I've probably set something somwhere else that is overriding the new functions. I can't find it! For Ex I'll set a new function to the shutter button when I go back to it it has reverted back to what is was originally. (Initially after changing it will show the way I changed it so I know i've changed it and Set it)

What shooting mode do you use? The behavior you describe is consistent with using a custom shooting mode.

“ Thank you, I will give it a try! “

Enabling auto-update and leaving it enabled goes against the point of using a custom shooting mode.

A custom shooting mode is a preset camera configuration. It is designed to return to its saved state should you make changes, whether intentionally or unintentionally.

If you wish to experiment and explore different camera settings, then don’t use a custom shooting mode.

Suppose you shoot in M mode. You have finally found a setup that works for you. Save that to a custom mode. You can keep on exploring and experimenting without worrying about losing your setup.
