Does this with lens attached or detached.

Reset all settings but no difference.

Can record videos (looks like recording in total darkness and can barely make out light bulbs), but wont take photos when shutter button pressed. Camera was connected to PC and the EOS utility app open.

Any idea what could have cause this?

Greetings Micahpaninga,

For our knowledge, where was this camera purchased from?

Please ensure you are using a Canon OEM Battery. Also what brand and model is your SD Card? It should be full size not micro SD or adapted. Do you have another one you can test with.

Probably won't work, but you can try tis.

1. power off camera.

2. remove battery, lens and card.

3. power on camera and cycle shutter button a few times

4. reassemble and see if it is improved.

If not you need to register your product (if you haven't already) and contact Canon for support.

Greetings shadowsports

Camera was purchased in Nigeria as brand new, for office use. Trying to get specific store details from procurement department.

Canon OEM battery attached.

Card is Sandisk (32GB), full size. Attempting to get another to test with.

Followed jrhoffman75's step by step instruction above and flickering decreased for a short moment.

I wasn't optimistic, but sometimes that process can drain off a retained charge. Sounds like you need to contact Canon for repair.
