EOS R6ii, max flash sync speed is 1/200 or 1/181?

The max flash sync is usually stated as 1/200 and that's used almost everywhere in the R6ii Advanced User Guide, except on one page where it explicitly states "Maximum flash sync speed in flash photography is limited to 1/181.0 sec regardless of shutter mode". (search for "181.0" if you have the pdf manual)

That's so specific it must be a real spec, not just an error in the manual. Is the max sync really 1/181? Why isn't it 1/200?

It could be a typo.

But in this case, note that this limitation is in the High Frequency Anti-Flicker section, and I believe it only applies to that condition.

I don't know *why* it applies here.

Re-reading the whole High Frequency Anti-Flicker section, I think you're right. The 1/181 sync speed only applies when the camera is in HF A-F mode and perhaps the camera needs some leeway in synchronizing to the ambient flicker frequency, and for the possible flicker speeds it finds. Thanks.

Yup, that's the same as the section in the manual. It's not wrong but finding that sentence out context from the rest of the section or explanation can be puzzling.
