topic EOS Rebel SL2 won't turn on at all in EOS DSLR & Mirrorless Cameras

My camera has been down for a while. It won’t turn on at all. I have tried a new battery and sd card. When both the battery and sd card is in the camera gets hot in that area after a few minutes. It gets hot even if one or the other is in by itself. What do I do?

Leisha,

My first inclination is to say you have a short somewhere. If that's the case, it would probably cost more to repair it than the camera is worth. It might be time for a new camera.

"What do I do?"

First the camera doesn't require a SD or even a lens to turn on and start up. So the only other thing you can address is the battery and/or charger. I must ask first, is the battery a real deal Canin brand bought from a known good source? Amazon is not a known good source for you information. This is your only option to buy a new Canon brand battery.

Bad news as Steve opined above the repair, if faulty, is more likely to cost well more than the SL2 is worth. If you love it, buy a good used SL2.
