I am not too familiar with the Canon 2000D, but it was my understanding that that the camera only beeps when it has achieved focus. It's a focus confirmation, and that's only in One shot focus, not Servo.

Does your camera beep at any other time? If it is not supposed to beep, then your beeping could be related to some other issue besides focusing.

Hello,

For the past two days, my camera has been beeping as though it's focusing, even though I've already released the shutter button. After that, the screen goes black and doesn't show the photo—sometimes it appears 30 seconds later. I haven't done anything unusual with my camera. Since I'm currently in South Korea and the temperature can drop to -5°C, I wondered if that could be affecting it. I visited a Canon service center in Seoul, but since I bought the camera a year ago and I'm in a different country, my warranty doesn't apply here. They offered to replace the shutter button for $50, but I'm not sure this will fix the issue, as I had the same problem once before (though it wasn't as severe), and it disappeared after a few days. Do you have any suggestions on what I could do?

What type, brand, and storage capacity is your memory card? Did you format your card prior to first use?

For reasons I can’t explain beyond anecdotal experience, the Canon cxxxD series of cameras don’t work well with high capacity SDXC storage cards, 64 GB or higher.

The micro-SD cards are not recommended because they always seem to fail.

Hello,

Thank you for your quick response! I use 32 GB SanDisk cards, specifically the Extreme Pro series with 100MB/s. I hope this information is helpful. I regularly format my card after transferring the photos to my hard drive.

I also wanted to mention that the screen sometimes remains black and only recovers if I turn the camera off and back on again. Additionally, I have tried changing the battery and resetting the camera settings, but the issue persists.

Thank you in advance for your response!

Is it a full sized card or Micro SD in an adapter. Only use Full sized SD Card.

Hello Steve Thomas,

normally the camera should only beep if i press the shutterbutton and the camera fokusses. Then i press it down fully and it takes a picture and shows the Picture on the screen. But since 3 days, my camera has been beeping as though it's focusing, even though I've already released the shutter button. And the screen goes black often and doesn't show the photo or the settings. I haven't done anything unusual with my camera.

thank you for your help in advance!

anna,

The first thing I would do is go in your menu and turn off the beeping. I personally found it to be annoying.

Secondly, Is the beeping related to some kind of countdown, like a 10 second delay or a 2 second delay,, or shooting a time lapse? Do you see any kind of countdown going on? Take a look at your drive mode.

Thirdly, I would buy a different SD card. There may be something going on with the card or cards you have.

Thank you Steve,

I might try a new sd cards even though the ones i use have been working for shortly over a year now.

the beeping is not related to a countdown. Besides the beeping the camera sometimes does not focus and the screen goes black. It is really weird because sometimes it works fine. Today i was in a museum and in a restaurant and the camera worked perfectly but outside the issue with the beeping, the focusing and the screen appeared again and also the red light on the lower right of the camera blinked red. Do you think it might be related to the cold? It was about 4 degrees today.

thank you for your help in advance!

Anna
