Welcome!

I don’t use Capture One. If you’re able to connect via USB, then that should answer my first question. “Is the R5m2 supported?”

There must be some sort of configuration setting that is incorrect. Let’s run down a checklist of ideas that pop into my mind.

Make sure the camera has wireless connectivity enabled. The camera is not able to switch between USB and Wi-Fi on its own.

The camera is not able to connect to multiple devices at the same time. For this reason I don’t recommend using the camera hotspot if you’re going to connect to more than one device or another.

I recommend using a shared WAP, preferably one with an internal connection. Many mobile devices drop their connection to the camera as soon as the metering timer expires. The connection goes idle, which causes the mobile device to run off looking for the internet.

This behavior is built into the mobile devices. If your device is configured to automatically connect to known wireless networks, then I recommend you disable this feature. The device should ask you before it tries to connect to a network, always. This is a basic security issue best practice, anyway.

Hello everyone,

I have a R5m2 and I'm now using Capture One Pro and Capture One Mobile. One of the main reasons why I started using Capture One was due to the supposed wired and wireless tether support with cameras including Canon. I managed to get the camera and Capture One Pro and Capture One Mobile to work with a wired USB-C tether, but I can't get it to work wirelessly.

I've been searching everywhere and tried everything I could find including setting up an EOS Utility connection via the camera's WiFi, but it still won't actually connect to Capture One Pro or Capture One Mobile. When I try to connect it to MacBook with Capture One Pro, I get a message saying that the camera rejected the connection. When I try with my iPad, I don't get anything at all then the camera just drops without actually ever connecting.

Does anyone have any idea what the issue is?
