Hey, thanks so much. I found the exposure sim and disabled it and that seemed to work. Thanks again and Merry Christmas.

If I'm shooting in Manuel mode at a 60th sec, F1 10, the display screen is too dark to compose.

How can I brighten the screen?

Hi!

To have a better understanding of your issue, please let everyone know the model of camera you're working with.

If this is a time-sensitive matter, please check out your other support options here.

Thanks!

Elkinsphoto,

It seems like you've got three options:

1) You can lower your shutter speed; or,

2) You can lower or widen your aperture; or,

3) You can Increase your ISO

Each of these options have implications, so for people to give you advice, it would be helpful for them to know:

a) What you are trying to take a picture of; and,

b) what kind of environmental conditions you are in

For example, 1/60th is already pretty slow. If you are trying to take a picture of a moving subject, lowering it any further will probably blur out your subject.

Are you outside and it's starting to get dark out, or are you inside a building, things like that.

And, as Samantha said, it would be helpful to know what kind of camera you are using. Some cameras allow you to adjust the brightness of your LCD screen display, but it's best to leave it on the average or middle setting. You might check your manual for that.

Hello, I'm using a Canon EOS RP. I'm trying to shoot some studio portraits. So my exposure is 60th@f11. But trying to view the subject through the screen it is very dark. Is there a way to lighten this up so that I can compose the image. Thanks.
