&lt;P&gt;This was discussed in another thread recently.&amp;nbsp; The excerpt I quoted applies to still or video.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You can set the shutter speed range for each [Shutter mode]&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;DIV id="tinyMceEditor_1bee2022072bf9shadowsports_0" class="mceNonEditable lia-copypaste-placeholder"&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/DIV&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN class="ui RSTR_RM_SHUTTER_METHOD"&gt;Shutter mode&lt;/SPAN&gt;] option. In [&lt;SPAN class="ui Prohibit"&gt;Fv&lt;/SPAN&gt;], [&lt;SPAN class="ui Prohibit"&gt;Tv&lt;/SPAN&gt;], or [&lt;SPAN class="ui Prohibit"&gt;M&lt;/SPAN&gt;] mode, you can set the shutter speed manually within your specified range. In [&lt;SPAN class="ui Prohibit"&gt;P&lt;/SPAN&gt;] or [&lt;SPAN class="ui Prohibit"&gt;Av&lt;/SPAN&gt;] mode, or in [&lt;SPAN class="ui Prohibit"&gt;Fv&lt;/SPAN&gt;] mode with shutter speed set to [&lt;SPAN class="ui Prohibit"&gt;AUTO&lt;/SPAN&gt;], the shutter speed is set automatically within your specified range&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;(except for movie recording)&lt;/STRONG&gt;. Select [&lt;SPAN class="ui RSTR_OK"&gt;OK&lt;/SPAN&gt;] to register the setting.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Mech shutter/elec 1st-curtain&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Lowest speed: Can be set in a range of 30 sec.–1/4000 sec.&lt;BR /&gt;Highest speed: Can be set in a range of 1/8000 sec.–15 sec.&lt;BR /&gt;Electronic Electronic shutter&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Since the R5 Mark II is still a new camera and we're all learning about it, I thought this might be informative to others with my same situation because it took me considerable time to find the solution. If you want to shoot faster than 1/8000, you have to be in TV or M modes (yes, that's logical). I like to shoot in FV mode so was puzzled as to why I couldn't set the speed faster than 1/8000. And of course, you have to use Electronic Shutter. I'm including a screen shot from the Advanced User Manual/Specifications section with additional shutter information.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;It almost seems like the camera is unable to automatically set shutter speeds faster than a certain limit, 1/8000.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
