topic Re: R6 R8 image stabilization? in EOS DSLR & Mirrorless Cameras

With in-body IS like the EOS R6/R6 Mk2 have then you get extra stabilisation effect as the in-body and lens IS systems work together. For video this can be quite a valuable advantage to have a camera with in-body IS.

The reality is that lens IS generally is better at stabilising angular movement, while in-body IS is better at stabilising shift movement where the camera is moved left/right or up/down. Also for longer lenses, in-lens stabilisation is generally better, while standard and wide-angle focal length lenses are better stabilised by in-body IS.

EOS R8 Is lack of in-body image stabilization an issue?

Is the R8 lack of in body image stabilization really an issue if your using cannon lenses with image stabilization built in?

I plan on doing both stills and video to be used on social media

While not scientific, Ken Rockwell shows how much improvement he gets when the IBIS and lens IS work in tandem:
