You can't transfer RAW images using camera connect app. I have tried several times.

However there is a way to do so using a USB-C cable. Connect the camera to the iPhone with a USB-C data cable, switch the camera on and open the Apple Photos app. You will see an additional icon IMPORT on the lower right corner of the Photos app, select that and then browse the images on the camera. Select the ones to transfer or all of them and they will then be transferred to the Photos app even in RAW format. It is also much faster than WiFi. If photos is syncing with your iCloud account then the RAWs will be on the computer too.

Here's screens from my iPhone, and also the one showing a transferred black frame is indeed in RAW.

I just started shooting in RAW, I use Canon connect to transfer images from camera to iphone where they automatically upload to icloud where I can easily access them on my Macbook. The RAW files are not there, is there a way to transfer RAW images to an Apple device using Canon connect? I do have an inexpensive card reader I can connect to my laptop, is that the only way? I find it much easier leaving the card in the camera, I can transfer them on my way home from an outing and they are then waiting for me on my laptop.
