topic Are Live View and Mirror lockup the same? in EOS DSLR & Mirrorless Cameras

If I put my DSLR camera in Live View, is that the same thing as using mirror lockup?

I just read someone who said that in order to reduce camera shake in a long exposure, you should put your camera in Live View, and also enable mirror lockup. I thought putting your camera in Live View already locked the mirror up.

Steve Thomas

It does, but it often drops the mirror to focus and then take the picture.
