Camera wound up in toilet

My son throw my camera in the toilet I don’t know how long for but all I know it was very wet but not soaked…. Trying to turn it on the green light pops up and then goes again that happened twice but hasn’t done that again and now when I’m trying to connect my camera to my laptop the orange lights just pops up … no idea if I need a new battery or it need repairing HELPPP

You don't say which camera, but the answer is the same: It is a total loss. You will need a new one. My son did the same with a Minolta 70-300 lens I had at one time. I needed a new one.

I agree with KVB it is likely a total loss. The bad thing is and everybody does this. You try to turn the gadget whether a camera or any electronic device on to see if it still works before you completely dry it. If it wasn't damaged by the water, turning it on and applying power did kill it for sure. Cameras and water generally do not mix well.

If you send it in to Canon and tell then it has gotten wet (submerged) I doubt they will even offer an estimate for repair. However if the do it may exceed the cost of replacement.

I just spent the weekend watching my niece and nephew. 3 and 1 1/2. Baby gates, magnetic cupboard locks and these click to lock strappy things. Worked great. No issues. My nephew did try to slide a dining room chair over to the credenza, but it didn't work out for him. They are fast, you have to watch them. Sorry about your camera.

As my colleagues have said, the camera is a write-off - even treated water has pollutants and chemicals (not to mention any toilet bowl additives) and they will eat away at the circuitry. The same result will apply to the lens and it will likely start to show fungus over time, and that too is fatal.
