I think this come up before. If I remember right, this is a default response of the camera, and you just have to hit OK or something.

I'm not sure you can change that behavior and as Steve said, it's the default. Maybe Canon will make a firmware edit, who knows. It doesn't serve a purpose for me as a still shooter.

As for why it's informing us of that, I don't know, but it goes away quickly and I just go on viewing, usually by pressing the magnify button, since most of my subjects are small birds.

Indeed this topic has been seen before

https://community.usa.canon.com/t5/EOS-DSLR-Mirrorless-Cameras/EOS-R5-Mark-II-Message-Mode-Movie-still-switching-on-Playback/m-p/495664#M120902

The message is to indicate that you can press the MODE button to switch between playing back movies or stills. Say you have both kinds of files on the card, it might be handy to only look at the movies or the stills this allows that kind of operation. If you have only stills or only movies then there's no effect.

Thanx, Brian!

I just never gave it any thought. It goes away, on its own, in a couple of seconds so it doesn't bother me 🙂
