Canon EOS Rebel T1i/500D - Card Write Protected Error

Hello,

Whenever I turn my camera on it says " CARD WRITE PROTECTED."

I flipped the lock to unlock on the SD card multiple times. When that did not work I replaced it will a new SD card that had never been opened. I tried multiple SD cards at the local store. However this doesn't seem to be the issue.

What is my solution here?

Then it is the little lever inside the camera that engages the switch. You can try to use a thin stick or something that will let you work it back and forth.

Yes, peer inside with a light and check it out before poking around - a magnifying glass might be useful.

Yes. There is a little mechanical switch inside the card slot that engages the write protect switch.
