So, as I thought, the option I'm looking for doesn't exist. It was available in my 6D Mark II, and it was quite an essential feature for me. I guess I'll have to get used to these new options.

I recently purchased the R6 Mark II camera and, so far, I'm quite satisfied with it after using the 6D Mark II for seven years, which was equally wonderful. However, there's one feature I miss from my previous camera that bothers me a bit. On the 6D Mark II, when I switched to manual focus and wanted to photograph a specific section within the frame, I could select my preferred focus point style. Then, during a half-press of the shutter button, if the focus locked, I would receive a beep, confirming I was in focus.

I’ve come to realize that this focus point confirmation is not common across Canon cameras, and it surprised me to learn this only recently.

With the R6 Mark II, despite the features I'm aware of—like Focus Mode and others—I can't seem to find an option during manual shooting to choose, for example, a 1-Point AF in a specific area, as I did with the 6D Mark II, especially when shooting in full manual mode. Am I missing something in the settings? Was this feature truly unique to the 6D Mark II?

It's important to note that I'm using an EF to RF adapter, which could potentially be the issue, though I find that hard to believe.
The lenses I use are the 17-40mm, 70-200mm, and 100mm.

I’d appreciate any insights.

SchnitHel,

I an not an expert in the R6 Mark II, but I think if you go to this page:

https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/s/article/ART182274

it might help.

If the camera is set to Servo AF the camera doesn't beep. It's this way with most of their cameras. This is because there's no focus lock in Servo AF vs One Shot.

Your EOS R6 Mark II has a couple of really useful aids for manual focus, namely focus peaking and focus guide.

Got to the fifth AF tab, to find MF peaking settings, and turn peaking on. Level set to high and colour to red, or use blue / yellow if you subject is red. With this enabled, when you switch to manual focus you will have a red overlay to display where the subject is sharp. If you switch back to autofocus then the overlay is off since it's only for manual focus.

Also on the fifth AF tab you will find Focus guide, set this to on too. This adds a single AF point overall on your LCD and in the viewfinder, and you can position it where you want by tapping on the LCD, or moving it with the joystick. This square box will turn green when the the subject under it is in focus. You will also see three small triangles to the side of the box. If the triangles are arranged wit the two at the top and one beneath, then you are focused further than where the square is, if the two triangles are below the single one then you have focused closer than where the AF point is targeting.

Are you using EF or RF/RF-S lenses? When RF or RF-S lenses are used you can display a distance scale in the viewfinder. On my EOS R6 Mark II and EOS R10 I see a distance scale on the LCD or in the EVF. At the each end of the distance scale are triangles that will disappear when the lens is in focus. There is no way to make the beeps work though.

The R6 Mark II works just like any other advanced Canon camera, including the 6D Mark II. Although the MILC bodies might seem to work differently, I am not seeing any major issues.

The focus point turns green when focus is achieved. I press ]AF-ON] when manual focusing, instead of the shutter.

Even better, the R6 Mark II has manual focusing aides that are not found on DSLRs.
