EOS Rebel SL3 Serial Number Not Registering

Hello, I am attempting to register my camera and the serial number is being rejected. I receive the following error:

The serial number you have entered is invalid for one or more of the following reasons:

1) The serial number does not match the product you have selected (FCC ID which starts with “AZD” is often mistaken for serial number.)
2) The serial number entered indicates this product was not intended for sale in the United States and is ineligible for registration and support in the U.S.

I am positive I am entering the serial number on the bottom of the camera body (EOS Rebel SL3), and the seller, B&H Photo Video insists it is a USA model and to reach out to Canon. Help!

Was the Rebel SL3 purchased as a new or refurbished/used product? Are you trying to assign it within your My Canon Account at https://canon.us/account?

Can you DM me with the email address on your Canon Account, your first and last name, and the serial number of the camera so I can check it, please?

If anyone else is having this issue, I was attempting to register the camera body only and the serial number was associated with the kit I purchased it with.
