EOS R7 won't let me adjust F-stop or focus

I have a Canon R7 that ended up losing the ability to focus. Had it sent into Canon and they sent it back "Fixed". However I still don't have the ability to focus or to adjust FStop. Updated to the latest firmware, nothing. My theory is that it is simply not interfacing with the lenses (Tried swapping Lenses). Anyone have a solution or idea of what to try?

Does the camera report the F stop. Or does it say F/00 or F--.

Do you have another lens to test on the camera. It could be a problem with the camera body.

Yeah, your lens is not communicating with your camera. I used to have the same thing when I was trying to use FD lenses on an EF body.

You will need to either get an RF lens, or an EF-R adapter that will let you use the lens that you have. They run about $130.

What lens do you have, by the way?

If you are trying to use an RF lens, it's possible that the con5acts on either the lens or camera are either broken, or dirty.

If you've already sent the camera to Canon and they sent it back saying, "It 's fixed", the problem probably is not the camera.

It is a Canon RF Lens. It is the 24-70. Tried different RF 24-70 to see if it was a specific lens. And neither work.

I have tried it with both my RF 24-70s since I have two. Just randomly occurred without a lens swap.

Were you able to figure out the issue? I’m using the canon EF-EOS R adapter that has the focus ring and today I just started having the manual focus issue. It looks like the aperture is stuck wide open reading F00. When I switch from the EF50 to a EFs 18-400 and zoom all the way in and out in manual it starts to display the aperture which then

allows the autofocus to work and allows me to take a picture. With the aperture reading F00 I can’t take a picture even with the picture in focus.

Test the lenses out a DSLR camera to eliminate the mount adapter as being the problem. Also the AF/MF switch on the camera body doesn't apply to EF lenses. Since all of those lenses have a switch on the lens to control those functions. It sounds like the lens is NOT communicating with your camera. I would suggest starting your own thread.

Were you able to get the fstop to adjust. If so, what did you do because i have a brand new canon r7 and am having the same problem.
