I have tremors so IBIS is a must at 77yrs old.

Lens IS is ok but I still have problems. I have all Canon lenses. I shoot all Canon dslr's, 5DSr the most and the 1Dx. I am looking to move to mirrorless and IBIS is a must. R5 better?

I love my 60mpx 5DSr's!

Thanks!

R5 II IBIS?

I am getting some very conflicting user info on the R5II NOT having IBIS despite what the R5II specs say.

Can someone clarify this? Am I missing something?

Thank you!

The Canon webpage has this:

ISTR that IBIS does not work with certain lenses, that might be where the confusion lies.

I have the R5, and the AF is vastly superior. IBIS also helps a lot, I hardly ever use my tripod anymore (only for known long exposures such as light painting, auroras, star fields, ...)

If the extra money is no issue, go for the mkII. Pre-capture, eye-controlled AF, faster sensor readout, are all useful for capturing sports/action, and animals/birds. If money is an issue, the mkI remains a very capable camera - it certainly changed my "game". (And for landscapes - stick with your 5DSR 😁.)

For the most part, I found RF "L" lenses to be notably superior over their EF counterparts, at least optically. The Canon-Gray plastic barrel of the RF 70-200/2.8 does attract dirt more easily, though.

PS: 5DSR is 50 MP. R5 mkI and mkII are 45 MP, so not much difference in terms of MP, but R5 is lighter/smaller
