It appears to be connected with the SA adjustment of this lens. The half filled white circle doesn't change but when the SA is adjusted the numbers can range from +2 to -2.

On my screen in Photo mode, I have an icon which does not seem to be in the manual. It is in two parts. A white half filled circle with a 0.0 beside it. It is just above the focal length and to the left of where the GPS indicator comes up. See attached. I have on the RF 100mm macro lens if that helps any.

I am pretty sure that this symbol refers to the picture style (specifically contrast) that you are using, as per the advanced user guide, P213: From the menu RED chapter, P4.

If you press INFO you can see the symbols displayed in more detail.
Picture Style details with INFO button

If you press INFO you can see the symbols displayed in more detail and this symbol is assigned to contrast. The shading is possibly reversed on your display because it is a white background.

Does the symbol only appear when you have the RF 100mm F2.8L Macro IS lens on the camera, and disappears for all other lenses? If so then your idea about it being the SA value makes most sense.

If you don't want it then you can remove it from the display by using the shooting information display setting menu and navigating to lens info where you will find SA.

I'll Mount my RF 100 tomorrow and see if I get the same icon for SA adjustment.

I’m not sure if the R5 / R5C / R6 show the icon. Certainly my EOS R6 lacks the option to display the SA value or not, while both the R10 and R6 Mark II have the option in Shooting info. disp. menu.
