You need to call Canon 1 (800) 652-2666

You never ever do a FW update on a camera that has a problem. FW will not fix a malfunction and you can brick your camera in the process. if it goes badly.

Hy! I have an EOS R camera. I can't use my flash anymore. I wanna update the latest firmware, from6 to 8 but it failed. I copied the firmware file to the formatted card, but when I opened the menu and wanted to start the updating, I get this message: "Update file cannot bed found. Please check the memory card and reload the battery and try again."
I switch another formatted card, and took a reloaded battery but it didnt't work. The extra thing is if I want to turn off the camera it also doesn't work only if I take out the battery.
